Antioxidants

Antioxidants are free radical scavengers. They act by inhibiting oxidation which is a chemical reaction involving electron transfer. Antioxidants are often electron donors that stabilize the "radicals" that would otherwise set off a chain reaction that results in damage or death to cells. Many degenerative diseases result from oxidative stress. Certain bioflavonoids are main source of antioxidants.
